Chasing Truth

To most, truth seems elusive and they spend their lives chasing it, being blown around like a Texas tumble weed until one day they catch on a barbed wire fence, bounce into a river, or get run over by a truck on interstate 40.

Many of these truth seekers become ensnared in mysticism, idolatry, atheism, darwinism, or witchcraft. Others become entrapped in various religious snares, whether it be Jehovah Witness or countless other denominational snares that twist the good news of Christ in to an enslavement of the devil by the works of men.

Recorded in John chapter 14 verse 6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Why then do you look to men, denominations, various books, and a multitude of other places for truth? Jesus is the way and the truth!

Why don’t you look to him? You know where to find him. His very words and teachings are written in the New Testament. You can have His Spirit.

Why not chase after him? I’ll tell you why. You do not truly hunger and thirst after righteousness. Only God is righteous. You don’t hunger and thirst for God.

Jesus who himself is God in the flesh said that “anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise that person in the last day.” You do not hunger and thirst after righteousness because what you seek is evil masked as righteousness.

In the City

John chapter 3 verse 19 - 21 Jesus says “the judgement is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.

All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so they can see that they are doing what God wants.”

You chase after other things because if you come to Christ, he will show you how evil you really are and it is truly painful!

You resist him because you will not accept truth.

That truth is that you cannot have your life (your own wants, desires, and plans for your life) and do what God wants.

Realxing in Nature

To do what God wants you must give up your life and follow Jesus.

When you get close, this is exposed and you turn back away because you say, "This can’t be right. It is too hard! I want!"

You turn to these other things and denominations who let you have a degree of your life while deceptively teaching you that you are saved.

 Beware! These are false teachers!

They say that the life you choose, if with good intentions and “dedicated” to God, is a life that is not truly living your life but Jesus’s through you.

 This is backwards!

You are to live your life through Jesus!

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Hiking in Sunset

If you truly know Jesus, you cannot be led astray. 1 John chapter 3 says, “Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.”

You start with the Bible, and when you have received the Holy Spirit, he will be your teacher and will teach you all things!

You must have a real hunger and thirst after God, righteousness, and truth, otherwise you’ll be tossed around. Read Jesus’s parable of the sower. Understand it and be the good soil!

The Gospel of Jesus is good seed, indeed, but you must be receptive and have pure intentions, laying aside all things to follow him.

With love and the good news of Christ, I desire nothing more than God’s will on earth as it is in Heaven.
   Truly,
